Kayak & Stand Up Paddleboard Checkout

Adult patrons with a current Lakeland Library Cooperative card, in good standing, may check out 2 kayaks or 2 Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP) for 24 hours. Reservations are not accepted, but you may call ahead to see if the kayaks are available. Come to the library with your pictured ID and your library card, sign a waiver (view a copy here), and fill out a borrowing agreement (view a copy here). You will leave with a bag containing the paddle, PFD (personal flotation device), and key to the kayak/SUP’s lock. These recreational items are located in beautiful Lakeview park, just 2 blocks from the library on Lincoln Avenue. The park has a covered picnic area, children’s playground, bathroom facilities, free parking, and a dock to fish from.

Please return the key, paddle, and PFD to the front desk at the library before close of the next business day.

Kayaks “Pickle” and “Pepper” have been in use since 2016. Added in 2018 are SUPs “Freckle” and “Frizzle”.
