The Friends in the past have baked delicious holiday cookies and treats which we will be selling for $4.00 per pound. Please help by bringing your cookies to the library on Friday, December 4 before 10 a.m., or drop them off on Thursday night before 8 p.m. The cookie sale will be on Friday, December 4 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The biggest event of the year for the Friends of the Library is always our “Celebration of the Seasons”, which will be held this year from November 30 through December 4 during regular library hours. If you have not had the opportunity to attend, you are missing a wonderful holiday event at the library in Lakeview. A silent auction is held at the library during that week, with patrons bidding on the donated holiday items. The final bids will be collected on Friday at 7 p.m. and announced shortly thereafter. You do not need to be present to win. If you would like to donate a holiday craft, wreath, tree, Christmas basket, gift card, certificate or any other item, please bring it to the library before Wednesday, November 25. The library will be closed Thursday, November 26 (Thanksgiving Day) through Sunday, November 29. We can always use items for the baskets, such as CDs, jewelry, car washing supplies, pet supplies, holiday items, decorations, games, etc. In the past, your baskets and other contributions have been fabulous!!
This will also be our 4th annual Chili-Soup Cook-off! It gets better every year! If you have a favorite recipe, please register at the library by Wednesday, December 2 and join in on the fun! The chili and soup will be served in the Tamarack Room on Friday, December 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Please bring your chili or soup to the library in a crockpot by 5:15 p.m. The public will be voting on their favorite with the 1st place winner receiving a small prize!
