Reading & Writing with Anne Frank

At the Tamarack District Library

September 20 – October 22

For one month, the Tamarack District Library will host the “Reading and Writing with Anne Frank” travelling exhibit. The Anne Frank USA Center for Mutual Respect will loan the exhibit to us and the Friends of TDL have graciously sponsored.

All ages are encouraged to tour the exhibit during the open hours of the Library. Companion programs are going on during the month and offer something for everyone.

From annefrank.com:

Where there’s hope, there’s life.

It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again.”

Anne Frank’s life and words continue to have powerful meaning for young people around the world. This webinar offers a virtual tour of the Anne Frank House as an example of an online resource that can be used to prepare students to read and comprehend The Diary of a Young Girl within the larger historical framework of the Holocaust. Led by educators from the Anne Frank Center, this webinar will leave time for Q&A.

Dr. Irene Butter Author/Inspirational Speaker/ Holocaust Survivor

Irene Butter’s memoir of her experiences before, during and after the Holocaust is not a recounting of misery and tragedy; rather it is the genuine story of a girl coming to terms with a terrible event and choosing to view herself as a survivor instead of a victim.

At the present time this event will be live. In case of a change in Covid 19 , we may need to pivot to a Zoom event, watch our website for information on how to register for an electronic event.
